Greening Schoolgrounds The Tree Canada Foundation (TCF) is a non profit, charitable organization that provides education, technical assistance, resources and financial support through partnerships. Their schoolground approach is multi faceted involving school staff, neighbours, unions, school boards, and the community at large. School Grounds Transformation Website Over the last six years, the Canadian Biodiversity Institute has been active in transforming school grounds from barren "prison-like" environments into nurturing, health, biodiverse spaces where children and the community can connect with their own natural spirits.
Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System Describes the "Landscape Restoration Handbook"-a guide to natural landscaping of schoolyards, backyards and golf courses. There is a $100 membership fee for schools.

Cheekwood Owl's Hill Nature Center This site really is all about owls. It suggests that the class create a wildlife habitat model, before taking on the real-life habitat. Shows photos of a hacking box - an owl half-way house between captivity and rehabilitation to the wild.
Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology Check out this place where "nestbox landlords" can share observations about their nest boxes online during the breeding season between March and August 1999. These observations are turned into maps in Biordhouse Online, giving a view of the breeding season never before possible. Also, check out the Birdhouse Cam, a web page where visitors see real-time snapshots of the activities inside various nest boxes across the continent.

Provides earth and biological science information in form of data bases, maps and lists of scientific and general interest publications.
EE-Link Endangered Species This site links up to the Raptor Center, Project Monarch Butterfly, Monarch Watch and Investigating Endangered Speices in the Classroom. It provides lists of endangered species, plant and animal, by region throughout the U.S. and the world. There is an entire EE curriculum plan for grades 5-8.
